Under a Tropical Sky

The collective exhibition Under a Tropical Sky will be shown till September 26th. The show gathers pieces from big names of Brazilian art as Di Cavalcante, Tarsila do Amaral, Antonio Gomide, Ismael Nery, Flávio de Carvalho, Portinari, Cícero Dias, Mira Schendel, Leon Ferrari and Vik Muniz. Their paintings are exposed at James Lisboa Escritório de Arte's gallery. The entrance is free and it is opened to every age public.

From all artists in the exhibiton, Tarsila do Amaral (1987-1976) was the pioneering. The painter registered in her works many elements from varied cultural movements. However, she did not forgot the view and colors of a typical and idealized Brazil.

Vik Muniz, the only one is still alive among artists in the show, was born in Brazil in 1961 and lives in United States now-a-days. He became famous around the world by using materials as peanuts butter to reproduce Monalisa.
